Gertrude’s Cat is an easy novice level quest in Old School Runescape that tasks players with helping Gertrude find her lost cat, Fluffs. Starting the Quest
- Start the quest by talking to Gertrude, who is located in her house just west of Varrock. She will tell you that her cat, Fluffs, has gone missing and ask for your help in finding her.
Required Items – Must have items for your quest
- Bucket of milk
- 100 coins
- Seasoned sardine (Bought from the Grand Exchange) or alternatively:
- Raw sardine (Caught or bought from Gerrant’s Fishy Business.)
- Doogle leaves (South of Gertrude’s house)
Recommended Items to get before starting the quest
- Skills necklace to teleport to Cooks’ Guild
- Varrock teleport
- Lumberyard Teleport
- Ring of charos (a) (lets you choose the colour of your kitten)
- An axe and 100 coins to cut down a dying tree in the Lumber Yard and create a normal plank for two easy Varrock Diary tasks.
Step by Step Guide
- Pick up doogle leaves from behind Gertrude’s house and use them on your raw sardine to make seasoned sardine.
- Go to Varrock Square’s newsstand and talk to either Shilop or Wilough, you need 100 coins. (Chat 2•2)
- Go to the Lumber Yard north-east of Varrock and climb-over the broken fence.
- Chop down a dying tree to complete an easy Varrock Diary task.
- Go up the ladder in the middle of the Lumber Yard.
- Try to pick-up Gertrude’s cat then use a bucket of milk on her.
- Try to pick her up again then use a seasoned sardine on her.
- Try to pick her up again then go down the ladder.
- Search the crates with a yellow “Search crate” option until you find Fluffs’ kitten. (Searching the same crate repeatedly will not work.)
- Go back up the ladder and use Fluffs’ kitten on Gertrude’s cat.
- Return to Gertrude.
